Fashion Editorial Project

Fall 2011 is a cool and subdued version of what we saw in spring…. garments detailed with architectural lines are done in pale blues, shades of grey, charcoal and black and the occasional pop of red.  Slim pants and well tailored dresses give the linear shapes a womanly feel.  The whole feel of the shoot is a cool, fresh look on minimalist lines and slim fits, with all the blues and grays.

For the cover is Narciso Rodriguez look 13. A sleek and cool looking dress with a feminine quality that will be a bold statement to open the editorial with.

Additional looks are from  Narciso Rodriguez, looks 12

Thakoon 15 and 23,

 Rag&Bone 8 and 22,

and Costume National 16, 17, and 19.

Hair for the shoot is a natural looking slicked back low side bun.  Like the model just came in from a windy day with her hair in a low bun.

Makeup I’d like to mimic this idea, as if the model was out on a blustery day. Her lips pink, like just bitten, a flushed light pink cheek on a mostly pale face. Eyes done with little eyeshadow color, a neutral light brown shade and a black graphic eyeliner.

A location that brings all the coolness and clean lines of this seasons looks ties it all together.  Blue Frog acoustic lounge and studios in Mumbai, India, designed by Angle-Indian architects Serie ,  one of De Zeen Design Magazine’s top ten interiors  for 2008,

or  Suites at the Icehotel in Jukkasjärvi, Sweden, created by artists from around the world. The temporary hotel is created from snow and ice each winter.

On the go: I've Got My Eyes on You

My Coppercraft Owl with abalone shell eyes I bought on eBay for around $5 (that's with shipping!).  I get so so many compliments on this necklace, I wear him all the time.

He's so cool right?!

Give 'em Color!

A lucky thrift store find, this clutch, with it's bright colors and geometric pattern, is the perfect little bag to carry with a spare, all white look like those from Celine.

Gone Fishin'

I adore Dior's spring collection! The pin-up inspired looks are right up my alley. Or should I say galley??

With many a navy themed looks walking down the runway I couldn't help but think of my absolute favorite necklace.  Given to me by my grandmother, it's my most cherished piece.

His mesh body is jointed so it moves with you when you wear it. It has turquoise eyes and his mouth opens, so I am told you can put in a little piece of cotton with your favorite perfume inside.  How cool is that!! I love love love this piece.

Dainty and Tough

This metal clasp bracelet was a gift from a great friend of mine. I love the floral etching in it, but it still has a tough quality to it. I can wear it with a really feminine outfit and it give the look a bit of edge. This great dress from Fendi has a similar feel.

Quite feminine with a bit of toughness. It's a awesome combo if you ask me.

Pretty Pink Petals

The awesome little lapel pins came from another eBay auction (I'm just a little bit of an eBay junkie).  They've got a pretty little sweep of pink next to the purple centers.  They'd make a lovely pairing for the pink satin suit in Marc Jacobs spring line.

If you can't do the big purple pouf  he showed on the runway (cause I know I couldn't), try a pair of pins like these.

Simple and Vibrant

These fantastic clip earrings I picked up from eBay.  They're a super simple shape but the aqua color makes them so much fun.  They'd be a perfect compliment to this Jil Sander look from Spring 2011.

The watercolor-like pattern in the skirt would just be enhanced by the extra pop of color from the earrings.
